Auburn Lake Trails

Auburn Lake Trails ("ALT") checkpoint is accessible from the main roadway inside the Auburn Lake Trails gated community. The access road is close to Gate 3, but entry via that gate requires a passcard. Non-residents must enter via Gate 1, close to the town of Cool.

After entering at Gate 1, continue on the main roadway, American River Trail, and turn left where it T's into Sweetwater Trail. Continue about 2 miles and turn left onto Secret Lake Trail. Continue about 1/2 mile and turn left onto Middle Mountain Ct. Continue straight and onto the access road down to the checkpoint. There are normally signs marking the way on event weekend.

Auburn Lake Trails requires VHF and UHF mobile capability with a Good Mobile, Base Station or Yagi Antenna. Must have Battery or Generator power only. Since 2005 we have been using WiFi at this site to handle Runner reports, using Radio for all other traffic except as a backup.
